TIME TO CUT GRASS?

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

Late winter is a good time to cut back your ornamental grasses. Here is an example of Pampas Grass. When the ends of the leaves begin to turn yellow and the plumes start breaking over, it is time to cut back.

Bundle the leaves with a rope or a bungee cord,

cut the foliage about 12 inches above the ground. Bundling the leaves lets you easily pick up most of the leaves at one time.

Be sure to use gloves, pampas grass has sharp edges.
