Fall is a great time to take a walk in a public garden. Many are free and open all day, as is Hatcher Gardens in Spartanburg, SC. Besides fall color you may find some plants unfamiliar to you and other surprises. We found this painted iron sculpture:
....this flower may fade but not fall.
This park had many easy pathways, most being accessible to wheelchairs. This water runs all the way through the 12 acres of park
This late blooming fall mum was massed in a sunny clearing in the woods.
Some other blooms we found were salvia, woodland aster, obedient plant and lace leaf mahonia.
This was a great adventure and there is more there to explore, so we will have to go again. Getting outside and soaking up the sunshine and beauty God created on this earth is good for the soul!
